Some binary opposites are: left wing-right wing, traditional-modern,older generation-younger generation.
2) What ideologies are on display in this clip?
In this video you can observe two people with different ideologies such as Nigel Farage who is the leader of the Brexit party with strong beliefs that the UK needs to exit the European Union and blames economical issues on immigrants. On the other hand you have Russel Brand who is not a politician but a political activist who believes that the people in power and politicians are to blame for the problems and corruption not immigrants.

The article is about of a film series called The Hunger games and how it uses representations, propaganda and symbols to separate and communicate to the audiences the different classes an to make it easy for the audience to know who the villains are and which characters they'll like.
2) What view of capitalist ideology is presented in the Hunger Games films?
A capitalist ideology is presented as in the film there are a wealthy and powerful group of people that manipulate the rest of the country to their benefit called 'The Capitol'.
3) What do the Hunger Games films suggest about the power of the media to shape and influence ideological beliefs?
The Hunger Games portrays how people in power can use the media to manipulate people and to keep control over them.The example given in the film is how they broadcast executions to invoke fear in the people and make sure they do not rebel.

Ideologies are constantly changing as people talk about them,and how the the media presents it.
2) What are the four accepted ideological beliefs in western societies highlighted by the article?
• People should put their families first.
• People should work hard for their money.
• Women should behave in feminine ways, and look after their appearance
Pleasure is a goal in life.
Gramsci defines hegomoney as is the ability of the dominant class to project its own
way of seeing the world so that those who are dominated by it (the masses), accept it as ‘common sense’ and ‘natural’.
His view was that ideology is the greatest material power and dominates our day to day lives through two key
forms of control:
1: Repressive state controls these agencies regulate social behaviour, government,police
2: ‘Ideological State Apparatuses’ these control and dominate implicitly,media educational institutions
I agree to some extent that the media does try to manipulate audiences into believing what they are told but i think audiences do have their own minds and opinions and are not feeding of off everything they hear.
