1) Analyse this RBK 50 Cent advert using the key media language you learned today: denotation, connotation, colour, pose, framing, composition, size, type of shot, subject matter, setting, lighting The denotation of the advert is a close shot of a male and a quote, however the connotation is that he is a survivor and has gone through a lot of hardship as the army cap suggests survival and fighting. The DNA fingerprints on the evidence sheet suggests crime was a part of his identity but had to leave that behind to have a better future. The colours used are dark shades such as black and grey which mirrors his dark past that he has left behind. The model has a stern and serious facial expression which may suggest that his rough and dangerous past contributed to him having to mature and has shaped him to be serious.
