1) Analyse this RBK 50 Cent advert using the key media language you learned today: denotation, connotation, colour, pose, framing, composition, size, type of shot, subject matter, setting, lighting The denotation of the advert is a close shot of a male and a quote, however the connotation is that he is a survivor and has gone through a lot of hardship as the army cap suggests survival and fighting. The DNA fingerprints on the evidence sheet suggests crime was a part of his identity but had to leave that behind to have a better future. The colours used are dark shades such as black and grey which mirrors his dark past that he has left behind. The model has a stern and serious facial expression which may suggest that his rough and dangerous past contributed to him having to mature and has shaped him to be serious. 1) What meanings are the audience encouraged to take about the two main characters from the opening of the film?  The film teaches the audience that stereotypes are not always true and to make your own assumptions rather than believing ones that have been created by society.
